A server blocked your connection with an FS code
You saw the message Connection rejected and a code such as FS-4A91. Here is what that means and what you can do about it. Your data and your rights are further down.
What the code means
The server you tried to join uses FiveSpoof. Its system linked your connection to a ban that exists on that server. The block applies to that one server and to no other.
Who decides
The staff of the server decides, not us. FiveSpoof is a tool the server runs. We do not ban players, we do not keep a shared ban list between servers, and we cannot lift a block on a server we do not run.
What to do
- Write down the code. It identifies your case for the staff of the server.
- Contact that server. Use their Discord or their appeal form and give them the code.
- Wait for their answer. If they agree the block is a mistake, they lift it and you can connect again at once.
If you have never been banned there
Mistakes are rare but possible. A block ends when the staff lifts it, or when the ban it is linked to ends. So tell the staff and give them the code.
Your data on a server that uses FiveSpoof
A server that uses FiveSpoof shows you a short card before you join, and nothing is read before you approve it. This is the longer version of that card.
- What is used
- Technical information about your device and your connection, and the identifiers of your game account. Not your files, messages or location, and no sound or video.
- Why
- To protect that one server against cheating and ban evasion, and to improve how FiveSpoof recognizes returning players. It is not used for advertising, it is not sold, and it is not shared between servers.
- Legal basis
- Legitimate interest: the server owner's interest in keeping cheaters and banned players out, and FiveSpoof's interest in recognizing them reliably.
- Who is responsible
- The owner of the server you joined, for protecting it. FiveSpoof processes the data for them, stores it in the European Union, and is itself responsible for using it to improve recognition. The card names how to reach the owner.
- How long
- Data about a player who stops playing on a server, and the record of a blocked connection, are deleted within two years.
- Who decides
- The ban is automatic. A person on the staff of the server can always review it and undo it, which is what the code is for.
Your rights
You can ask the owner of the server for a copy of what is stored about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to its use. A server may keep the record of a ban that is still in force. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to the data protection authority of your country.
We do not publish how FiveSpoof recognizes a returning player, to anyone. That would only help the people it is meant to stop.
